# Who comes to the door when you ring

Locksmith Villajoyosa is a mobile locksmith service based in the town, with 22 years at the trade behind it. There is no shop to visit: the workshop is the van, and the van comes to the door, the shutter, the safe or the car.

## Five rules that do not change from job to job

- **The phone is answered at any hour**, and you are told honestly how long the drive to you looks, rather than a number of minutes nobody can keep.
- **The price is agreed at the door**, once the lock has been seen and before any work begins.
- **Nothing is broken that can be opened.** Latch, then cylinder, then the drill, and the drill only with your yes.
- **Proof of address first.** Nobody’s door is opened on their word alone, yours included.

## The jobs we turn down, and why

This business does none of the following, for anyone, so you do not need to ask:

- Cutting, copying or duplicating keys of any kind
- Spare keys for homes, garages, gates or padlocks
- Car keys: cutting, supplying, replacing or programming them
- Transponder chips and remote controls for vehicles
- Ignition barrels and ignition switches
- Keys for motorbikes, mopeds or vans

## Residents, visitors and owners who live elsewhere

In 2022 just under a quarter of the people registered in La Vila Joiosa had been born outside Spain, from Britain, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, France and Belgium among many others.
